Anyone else tried this? My mum and I do it regularly and it is tough but it works. It's also known as the British Heart Institute Diet but I believe this is a bogus and misleading tag. Ah well I'm not dead...yet.

i've done it a few times and it does work, weird food combo's tho, i only once lost the whole 10 poundafter that it would be 3 -6 - this is the one where you have to eat icecream each day? (guess why it attracted me)

Yes mccfluff it is the ice cream one! That is the only thing to look forward to each day!! I know what you mean..I lost 9 pounds the first time I did it and then only 5 the next two times but I don't have a lot to lose so I put it down to that. Whiskeysheri, if you type "3 day diet" into google, it should come through for you.
and you have to eat saltine crackers also?

Yes - tuc or ritz biscuits.

It was given to me as The British Heart Foundation diet but anyone with half a brain cell would realise that it would not be condoned by anyone!


saying that, it's really easy to follow, I can't see that it does any harm if you follow it for just the three days and it works! it's brilliant if you want to lose a few pounds for a special occasion

It has a high salt intake and is extremely bad for you.


Most of the weight loss will be 'water'.


I would advise anybody to steer clear of this - it is certainly recommended by ANY authoratitive body.

I used to go on it once a month along with colleagues. We did not too bad on it at all as I recall

OOh I dont like the look of it! I just Googled,it does'nt look healthy at all and what the heck is a half a cup of whatever? Im losing a steady 2Ibs weekly on the Slimming World Health Eating Plan.
Alibobs, You're right,the BHF dont condone this fad diet.

yep, tried it and couldnt stick the restricted diet plan.... I purchased it from someone on ebay - but then googled it and the 'plan' was there for anyone to use.


However, saying that, I wouldnt recommend it, the weight you are likely to lose is water weight.... its also not backed up by the BHF - look on their website!


Like others, I'm on the slimming world diet - its not half as restricting and you get to eat, real, healthy food.

its not the healthiest way as you say but i've done it for 4 weeks and lost a stone and a half, was it all water??? i'm going to stop now but its been a big boost....
