How important is it to use a fluoride toothpaste? I quite like the idea of using a herbal one. I heard we get enough fluoride from our tap water.

Fluoride in toothpaste has been the single most successful oral heathcare measure in preventing dental decay.


You can get herbal toothpastes containing fluoride.


Even though your locality may have fluoride added to the water supply (and most regions of the UK don't) you would still benefit from the higher concentration of fluoride present in toothpastes.
