What am I looking at ?
I'm sitting at my comp eating a cream cake and out of my window I see what I thought was a star, but it's too low in the sky to be a star, its also larger than the north star, so then I'm thinking maybe its Mars but it seems far too bright and it seems to have a bit on the bottom...not shaped like a star... so I was wondering am I looking at the space station? and if so whats it for and are their astronauts stationed there. Does the space station move about? can anyone enlighten me please. Ta

Don't think it would be a space station. Certainly the International one is not static in the sky. It goes round the earth several times a day.
Satellites as far as I know tend to give off flares reflected from the sun.
If you're into all this stuff then a good site is Heavens-above.com. Just free register with your location and then it shows you everything in the sky relative to exactly where you are and what time it is as you look at it. The Space Station is quite impressive to look at flying overhead.
Sorry this doesn't exactly answer what it was you saw.
