What to wear?

Sorry, didn't really know where else to put this but I need some advice. I am starting a job as a weekend lettings negotiator on Saturday. I had my interview last saturday and wore a suit. Do you think they would notice if I wore the same suit this weekend and do you think a full on suit is too much?

P.S. I used to wear suits to work every day. Also, a different top underneath, can make the same suit look different too.

Sorry to be the one to put the spanner in the works here, but I would notice if you were wearing the same suit. I am one of those people who does notice the �little things� when interviewing. I would consider the fact that maybe you do only own one suit (only because in the past I interviewed a young lady who, as it turns out, borrowed a suit from her sister for both interviews and she got the job, only to start turning up to work in mini skirts and cropped tops which were highly inappropriate!!) � BUT, if your 2nd interview is with somebody else then I wouldn�t worry so much. Just make sure you wear a different coloured blouse underneath and, if possible, different shoes. Or wear a prominent necklace to make the outfit look different. After all, you can always invest in more work clothes after you get paid!!

Thanks for your answers. Good idea about changing the top, shoes and jewellery! I definately won't be wearing the same shoes, I have to admit I did pinch the ones I wore to my interview off my sister and struggled to walk. :o)

Milly, if you need to increase your work wardrobe in a short timescale and you�re strapped for cash then go to charity shops. They have loads of barely worn work skirts and jackets. For info, it doesn�t have to be a business suit at the workplace. I�m a Executive Assistant and I always wear skirts with a fairly smart top, but rarely a business jacket or a matching suit.

I was going to suggest what Champagne said, but didn't want to put you off! I also notice the 'little things', but as I suggested a different top would help distract.

I used to have a few suits which I alternated every day & not meaning to sound patronising, I'm sure in time you will be able to do the same.

I also used to do a lot of interviewing & some girls/women would turn up looking really smart, only to start dressing down as time went on. I had to remind them that looking smart was just one of our policies - not something I enjoyed doing, but it had to be done.

That's not a bad idea. I work full time in an office and it's all very casual so I have never had the need for smart clothes before and being totally strapped for cash, a charity shop sounds like a good plan!

That's a great idea Champagne - I only wish I'd thought of that when I was working! Suits can be so expensive, 'specially when you need a few!
