Has anyone ever sent theirs back for repair (you can do this) and if so, how much did it cost? The trouble is the wire I think, it seems to lose its connection and I don't think its worth trying any others as GHD really are supposed to be the best.

If not, what and where and how much have you paid for them? :)

Can't help you I'm afraid Poglet but just wanted to make you aware that I saw a pair of BROKEN GHD's for sale on E-Bay today and they were going for quite a bit when I saw them and there was still time left in the auction. So that maybe an idea if you can't get them fixed, bit of money towards some new ones :o)

Hope you can get them fixed tho, I had my hair cut yesterday and my stylist used GHD's and my hair looked so much better than when I use my crappy things :o( Wish I could afford a pair...

Good Luck :o)

i'm not sure about cost poglet but i did it thru my hairdresser...but that was where i bought them from....i'm sure your hairdresser would be able to help you.
Sent mine back, same problem. They sent me new ones 3days later.

elmish, how much did you have to pay or were yours still under guarantee. mine are not, guarantee run out about 2 months ago!
Mine were 14 months old, but this is a common fault I know someone who had theirs replaced after 2years.

me too. I was just goona scrap mine as id had them over a year when my friend told me she'd had the same fault on hers and sent them back and got a replacement. So i thought well ive got nothing to lose! Sent them back on the monday with a letter, got a brand NEW pair delivered to my door on the weds!!!!

UNBELIEVABLE!

Apparently GHD were having big probs with straighteners manufactured over (about) 2 years ago. They didn't recall them, but lots of people were complaining and some suffered electric shocks and burns as a result of the wire wearing away. I'd contact GHD and see: They might replace for free.
