Well, everything went great and according to plan. In fact it was better than great - It both amazing and magical at the same time.
It all started last Wednesday, I sent Emma and her 3 best friends off for a surprise 2 day and night spa at the Mandarin Oriental in London (it was a way of saying thank you to her friends for helping me with choosing the ring and packing Emma's bags without her knowing etc) and it was a great surprise for all of them Emma still knew nothing of the weekend away.
While they were away, I booked myself on a crash course (literally) on how to fly a hot-air balloon.
Friday morning came around and I followed Emma to work in a chauffer driven Audi A8, when she arrived at work, I just walked and told her it had all been arranged for her to the time off as we were going away for a surprise anniversary weekend to Monaco (where we first meet 3 years before). The whole thing worked like a dream.
When we got to the hotel we had a great suite with sea view, lots of fresh flowers, champagne and the surprise for Emma, was her bags had been sent ahead and already un-packed for her by hotel staff.

We had a great couple of days and on the second evening had a wonderful candle-lit meal followed by a moonlight and fireworks hot-air balloon ride. (Part of the original problem for me was that this was where I wanted to propose but didnt want some French guy in the basket with us too!!) She couldnt believe it when I was the one who was going to be flying us at over 200feet over the open ocean.
And yes thats where I got down on 1 knee and proposed over the ocean and with all the fireworks going off in the distance over Monaco she said yes (thank god)
An hour later we were both down and walked hand in hand with tears of joy along the beach back to our hotel.
The hotel staff were amazing as I had arranged yet more flowers, champagne and the privacy of our own balcony Jacuzzi for the evening.
The following morning we phoned both sets of parents, friends etc (all of which were so happy for us)
Weve been back 2 days and its already cost me a small fortune just in wedding magazines!!!!!
Thank you all so much for your kind words, advice and thoughts Im so happy.
And of there are any guys reading this, please take my advice. When you find the woman you want to be with for the rest of your life, make sure you really do push the boat out when you tell her!!!
Hi jon1968

I never in a million years, thought Id have this much reaction from so many of you!!
Fideldyfee, if you have a spare 5mins, have a read of the original thread. (link is above) It highlights the whole choosing the ring day that was an adventure in itself!!
Glad I managed to brightened up your days (mine have been so good since this all happened that right now, Id have to look down to see cloud nine) Although it does feel a little weird to know that whole offices around the country are fully upto date on my private life (you know who you are loobie!!!)
Thanks again
