Why do we feel so much better with a sun-tan?

I know the sun is bad for you blah blah blah,but don't most of us generally feel and look better with a nice tan,I know I do.

yep your right and with me i also feel better when i streak my hair blonde,it does make you feel much better even about yourself

I'm lilly white,me & the sun don't seem to get on,so i'm taking to using bottle tan at mo so i'm not too white when i go on holiday!!

The sun actually causes our bodies to release certain vitamins (i think its vitamin A but not sure). No sun at all can actually be bad for you. (extremes i think)

Our bodies absorb vitamin D from sunshine. Lack of this vitamin causes rickets - a weakening of the bones causing deformities especially in the legs.

So sunshine is very good for us. Sun burn is very bad for us.

oh how I long for a nice tan. Sadly I just burn, blister, peel and then go white again and all I have to show for it at the end are a few extra freckles! Oh well, least it's not bloomin raining!

Sun tan! I wish! My daughters and I have titian hair, freckles and pale skin. We burn just looking out of the window and spend the summer smothered in high factor sun cream and draped in long, white flowing robes and hats. We look like something out of a Beau Geste film.

i have a kind of permenant tan, thanks to my mediterranean family, but i love getting darker, makes me more confident and i feel fab!!!

Hooray for Johnson's Holiday Skin!! I look lovely and tanned at the moment and it's all bottled. I feel much more attractive and everybody is saying how well I look.

i feeel 4 all of you who burn so easily - I have spent 3 days gardening and weeding in the sun this week,and I look as thought I have been abroad for a week.Just have that type of skin that tans in 5 mins.xx
