Hair Extensions
11 Answers
I am thinking getting hair extensions just below my shoulders. My hair is currently in a bob style to my chin. I have booked a consultation for tomorrow & they have said that a full head is 750. Has anybody had them done? Would you recommend them & how much did you pay?

(supposedly real hair off some poor russian too!)
I doubt posh spice pays much more than that, but at least hers look realistic (ish)
anyway.... she took them out after a few weeks!

WAY too expensive. Are you in the city centre of London or something?
You can get 100% cuticle-correct human hair put in by fusion bonding or micro-links for 250 - 350 in a salon, about 150 - 300 by a perfectly reputable and insured home extensionist (is that a word?).
Don't get it braided as it damages your hair and pulls it out, making your own hair sparser at the root and causing patch baldness. The "best" method is the fusion bonding technique, but a lot of people find this irritating and find difficulty washing their hair. It also costs a lot for upkeep - the hair may last 6 months but your own hair will grow and the extensions will loosen and fall out! So you need regular trips to the hairdresser to have loose extensions reattached, etc.
Why not try clip-in extensions? You can buy real hair ones from Sally's, or off the net. They're much more reasonably priced and you can take them out if you hate them. I have my own and nobody even knows it's not my own hair! Take 10 - 20 mins to clip in, and 2 mins to take out. I'd recommend them! x

blimey - get on yell.com find the number to loads of salons and phone around to get a better price... but then again if you have loads of money why not waste some of it in the hairdressers, they will prob give you a complementary cup of coffee with a biscuit!!!!!
(my last haircut do cost 10 pounds, and i thought i was treating myself as i went to the posher barbers shop!)

hiya! i wanted hair extensions few months ago, but being a student found them way too expensive. my friend works in toni and guy and asked her the best way to go about it. she said to go to the market (live in Cardiff) and buy real hair. found some 16" long, matched my colour cos was 28. then she said to buy special clips to sow in they were 4 so then i sowed them onto hair myself! so now i dont have to wait for glue to unfix itself, i can have long hair one day, short the next! all for a total of 32! they look totally real too!
