Lesbians having babies,selfish?

Do you think it is selfish for a lesbian to have a baby just because she wants one?I want a baby and when I am older I hope to have one.Anything wrong with that?

I don't think there is anything remotely selfish about a lesbian having a baby! I am not sure I even get the Q! Many straight couples have babies all the time just because they have decided they 'want' one.. does this mean it is wrong? No. Then why should it be wrong for a Lesbian to want a baby?

In theory, no its not selfish at all. The unfortunate thing is the child may be picked on at school if your sexuality was known by all the other children. For some reason I think the kids get a harder time if the parents are male homosexuals as opposed to female homosexuals though.

You can't let the fact that the kid might get picked on ever stop you. Kids pick on other kids for the stupidest of things and this child might turn out to be popular and never ever get picked on. We don't know whats round the corner and sometimes its better that we don't.

I was quite popular at my school and the group of people I hung about with was the biggest crowd in our year and I noticed that if one of my mates bought a funky purple school bag.. everyone said it was cool. But if one of the unpopular crowd got one.. they got picked on! Its normally to do with the groups you fall into!

I will answer your question properly,because you have at last asked a proper one, NO I do not think it is wrong for Gay/ lesbian people to have children, most people want children regardless of there sexual persuasion,as long as a child is wanted and loved it should not be an issue, if that is what you want I wish you good luck, Ray

Having children changes your perceptions of life..changes your priorities. You need to be a mature person with an ability to look at the bigger picture ~ this has nothing to do with sexual orientation at all.

Hi sexy, Yes, I do have a problem with that, same as Gays adopting. Please bear with me though, while I explain.

I have nothing at all agains a persons chosen lifestyle, and with some, it comes down to the genes, but I really don't believe that two people of the same sex are good for a growing child, its either two mummies or two daddies, and thats got to mix them up good and proper,

As far as being , apart from an accident, the baby never asks to be born, so all babies, are born out of a selfishness. You here it all the time, 'lets try for a baby', Baby never has a say in it.

I was going to say a very nasty thing in reply to this question but I have changed my mind.You have asked a sensible question and as a result you have proved you can be mature.Well done.As for the answer I agree with Lonnie.Choosing to have a baby is always selfish because the baby has no say in it but it is no more selfish for a lesbian to have a baby than a straight couple.As for your Grandad I am sure when he sees his big cuddly ,smily,grandchild he won't be staying away for very long.
