clip in hair extensions or a perm?
I have just been looking at clip in hair extensions.
i had been planning to get a perm and then straighten in order to add volume to my hair.
i have very thin hair due to a medical condition.
both will cost more or less the same amount but i am not sure which would be best.
my hair is very greasy so i am not overly concerned about my hair suffering from dryness after a perm.
with the thin-ness of it i am concerned about whether the clips will show though as i assume the idea is that your real hair covers them.
are clip ins a pain to put in? how easily do they fall out? can you leave them in for ages or must you keep re doing them? am i likely to lose a few on a night out in a club?
i am not really one for doing much to my hair other than wash and dry it (hippie chick) so i don't really want to have lots of faffing about to do on it.
what would you guys recommend?
thanks

You make a clean horizontal parting , pin your own hair above the parting out of the way, and then attach the clips to the hair below the parting. You usually get 2 or 3 big sections for the back and sides, and a few 1" sections to fill out the front.
You're supposed to take the extensions out at night, but just so that your own hair doesn't get damaged and so that the extension hair lasts longer. I'm sure you can sleep with them in once in a while, but they're super easy to take out (just un-pop the clips and they slide out).
You could try buying 1 pack of extensions (as I've said, you really need 2 packs to get a "full" effect. I have very fine hair and even on me 1 pack looked sparse) just to see how you feel about wearing them.
With regard to the perm, not really my forte. I know that modern perms don't do so much damage to the hair, and I also know that you can get your hair permed at the root only for volume.
I suppose it depends whether you're looking for a more permanent or a very temporary solution. In saying that, there's no reason you can't do both...
Hi, I swear by clip in hair extensions (I had mine in last night from 8.00pm til 5.00am) they stayed in fine after a lot of dancing!! You shouldn't sleep in them though! The best place to get them is the hair heaven shop on ebay, they are real hair and very easy to clip in. (be careful though some people selling them on ebay are a rip off)
Regarding the perm... my auntie had a perm to add volume to her hair and she couldn't manage to style it herself properly, you have to be really good at blow drying/ straightening, she had to go and get her hair blow dryed at the hair dressers every week...
