some developers bought the land next to my house and have built houses/flats on it. they were required to widen the existing road to improve access and provide parking bays for the houses along my road. they dug up the road and have had it up for 3 weeks now which is inconvenient as i have to park at the end of the road (i live at the other end) and carry my shopping/7 month old baby and watch my 5 year old doesn't trip up due to the uneven surface. they don't seem to be in any hurry to finish and i was wondering if i could get any compensation? my car interior is covered in mud because of the rain and having to walk through the unfinshed road/path and they also hacked the front half of my privet hedge away without asking. can i do them for damage to property?
