spotting on the depo injection.. is this ok?

My friend is on the depo injection, and for the past week she has had spotting, not a full period but just lots of spotting, is this ok, or should she be worried? I've suggetsed she go see her GP

If she's only had one or two injections, then yeah it's normal. I had spotting for almost the entire first year on depo, and kept asking my family planning doctor about it. They did some swabs just in case, but said that spotting is nothing to worry about x

After a year of being on depo i still get spotting..i also had tests and this sometimes happens with some ladies..lots of side effects with this type of contraceptive from weight gain to migraine im afraid but its not that bad ive been on it two years and have only just started spotting.Hope this puts your mind at rest..
