i don't know weather or not i should've asked this on the science category but here it goes: you know in the film "the others" with nicole kidman,well the children are suffering from a disease where they can not be revealed to light, does anybody know the name of this condition? thanks in advance!

She was strangled with her own hair. i think porphyria is something to do with purple

porphyria has one syptom that also makes the wee turn a very dark blue colour.

i don't think it is porphyria - that is a heamatological disorder where the body fails to make heam - a component of heamaglobin ... i worked as a heamatology nurse and looked after these patients, and i never heard of them not being able to tolerate sunlight in that same way as the kids in the others. However, i could be wrong of course, as it was quite rare and i only ever saw very few

actually i take that back - the people i looked after had acute intermitted porphyria, not any other type
