Can anyone suggest any muscle or cardio based exercises that may be particularly suitable for a cricketer?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.One of the main problems of batters (and bowlers for that matter) is the unnatural stances and movement so generally i would say lower trunk exercises are recommended to maintain a strong lower back - bowlers especially have to worry about possible back problems (perhaps not now but in later years...) - Iron Man used to be excellent for weight-training exercises to strengthen particular parts of the body so look there for back exercises. You'll find this useful too for building upper arm strength (so you can hit those sixes easily!) http://www.ironmanmagazine.com/
