Hi Pink, congratulations to your friend on the birth of her child! I can understand how they must be feeling to have found about the downs, as it wasnt anything they were expecting. The amnio would have told them what to expect but of course parents given a 1 in 200 chance never imagine that they could be the 1. Im sure things will settle soon and i hope that the grandparents realise the hurt that they are causing her, even if they in shock too.

Oh and the sun is shining! Isnt it a great day. Must remember to post about 4getmenots birthday in just over a week

I agree.I think people react differently to the unexpected and hopefully given time they will come round.( they said they didnt want a mongol grandchildcant you believe that?).

But im giving as much support as I can and baby is doing well.

i hope mother and baby are doing well pink fizz, i was reading an article the other day about a woman who had a downs syndrome baby and she said that the doctors had tried to get her to abort him and she refused and she looks at her wee boy now and feels like taking him up to the hospital and saying "look at him, and you wanted him aborted?" he was the loveliest little boy. must just be a shock to some people at first but in the long run he will lead a happy and fuffilling life xx

Well it's gonna be a warm one apparently. i will be looking after my nephew on Saturday and I think he's coming round for a few hours on Sunday. nan is coming round too and its fathers day so that'll keep us busy. Really don't want the weather to be hot on monday cos i'm helping my mate move into her flat - think lots of boxes, third floor flat, no lifts!!!

i'm not doing much, am hoping my sore throat wll be gone so i can have a few glasses of wine with my friends and just generally chill out !!

loobie - my flat is 3 floors up and no lifts and i moved in a year ago and the weather was warm.... it was torture !!
i think i lost a few pounds though and the backs of my legs were aching for about 2 days !!
