Does money buy happiness?

I come from a very rich family but I have never felt that it has brought me happiness. If the average person came to live in my family for a week they would love it but after a while they would get used to their situation and the thought of getting nice things would bore them.I was thinking about this. If you are poor it takes less to make you happy and therefore you will become happy easier. Money does not buy happiness

Ok kazza :o) I mentioned the cash register thing as it seems to be a common thought that this is the one job that most people wouldn't do as it was 'beneath them'!

I could give examples of loads of jobs that would probably have the same view..stacking shelves, waiting tables, cleaning, bar work, labouring on a building site..etc etc. I still believe that life skills should be taught before you reach your chosen career path. So many interviewees fail because of personality traits linked to a non-personable nature. Getting out in a working envirionment, even earning just a few quid an hour could teach a person quite a lot..whether it's compassion, independence or working within a team.

I haven't I am still clinging to the hope I am not pregnant at all.Doctors can be wrong. Anyway my lovely Daddy and Mum will look after it/them if I am pregnant.In another month I will know anyway if I am pregnant because I will be able to see my tummy getting bigger.I think it is better if I leave them/it with my parents it would be better for the it/them.Still not sure whether or not to bring the babies/baby up thinking my parents are it's parents and I am their/its sister.Sorry that was soooo confusing but I think you will understand what I mean.I am continuing with my studies whether I am pregnant or not.

Yes it will.So I will shut up about my baby/babies now because I feelI am doing nothing wrong.I shall continue my life as I did befoer I got pregnant(if I am) except taking drugs.I am giving alchol,drugs and smoking up COMPLETELY .

Pleasure is not the same thing as happiness.

This is something so many people seem to fail to understand.

Money can buy you fancy clothes, cars, booze, drugs, holidays and all these things bring pleasure.

But pleasure fades most things that you find pleasurable rapidly wear off.

Happiness is lasting in order to achieve happiness you need 3 things.

1) You need control in your life, if you don't have that it's hard to be happy - money does tend to help this one.

2) You need to be doing something that you believe is worthwhile - many rich people fall down here

3) You need positive encouragement and approval from friends and familly - not always necessary but it takes a special person to be happy without this.

Try to aim for these 3 things and you'll find happiness.

Good for you in giving up the drugs & alcohol. get yourself a little charitable hobby or a job..then you will feel so much better about yourself..and I am sure everyone else will see you in a better light too :o)

HUM!I Might start by giving some money to the homeless centre .They are in desperate need of resourses( well you know what London is like with homeless people) and I could help their fund.Alsomy Dad owns hotels so I could get him to help them with food and stuff.They could do with some of the his old hotel bedding. Oh I feel happier already!!!

if youre still not sure about being pregnant (tests do not give false positives) then you shouldve given up the alcohol drugs and fags by now and be taking folic acid. If is true and you were giving the baby up surely youd still want to give birth to a healthy child?

sorry ive diverted from the post. I stick with my original post and add that i dont think you are happy in any way with your life, therefore you have answered your own question.
