how old is old?

i no this changes depending on the age of the person asked but how old is old, my daughter (8) thinks 30 and you are past it, im 32 and old to me is 85 ish, so how old are you and what do you class as old?

I remember when I was 18 and thinking 30 was old. Now I am 38 and I don't feel that old..until my 16 year old daughter brings her mates home and there I am trying to engage them all in conversation & trying to be fashionable..while their faces are like 'bog off, oldie' ;o)

My ex mother in law is 72 and insists she doesn't feel old..so I don't know what 'old' is until I really do feel it!

33 and i would guess 75+ but a lot depends on the person, some people just act old, if you know what i mean. a lady who lives opposite me is 81 and is always rushing about doing stuff, makes me want to have a lie down after seeing her charge about lol

I was so unhappy on my Birthday yesterday to be 19.I wanted to stay 18.I think you are no longer young once you hit 30 but until you are 40 you are not middle aged.I think you are elderly once you are 60 and very old once you are 80.

I am 59 and inside don't feel much different from when I was 25, until I look in the mirror. Nowadays I don't tend to see people as old unless they really act it and it's really difficult to age anyone these days. I see some really old 30 year olds and some really young 80 year olds.

Isn't 'old' just a state of mind? people can be very immature at 35..whilst others can be very sprightly when they are 86.

I have this to say to anyone who thinks 40 is old:

like pippa68 my kids make me feel old when they go on about emo this sweaty that (whats that all about?) but then i go out with my mates who are younger than me and i feel 20 again, thnk it depends who you are with and how you act as to how old you feel.

I'm 23 and used to think over 60 was old, now I think 80+ is old.

i'm 26 and as my husband keeps reminding me i'm nearer to 30 than 20 now and my kids think i'm ancient!! but inside i don't feel particularly old not sure how i will feel come my 30th birthday we'll have 2 wait and c!! but i think u r only as old as u feel. xXx

You're only as old as the girl you're feeling!!

It does depend on the person I think. My dad's 60 this year, but he seems a lot younger than some people I know in their 20s. It's all about attitude I think

Im 40 and dont feel old normally, though sometimes at work or if im not well I feel 100. My sons nana is in her 80's and definately doesnt seem old.

Some of how 'old' people are depends on their attitude to life, I've met 20 year olds who seem middle aged and 60 years old who are considered 'cool'. I managed a sheltered housing scheme for the 'active' elderly once and one old lady of 98 said to me once 'the trouble is, in my head I'm still 30 but the mirror tells me I'm ancient'. And you know what, she's right. I hate to admit it but I'm 47 (in my head I'm 27) with an 8 year old son, most of the other Mum's at school have no idea how old I am (they are 20's and 30's) at a school 'do' recently someone revealed my age and one of the other Mums looked at me for a moment and said 'You Cow! I thought you were the same age as me (36)' Mr Hellion and I have a good friend who is 19 and he thinks we're 'cool' and I'm older than his Mum! And I have to say I don't think I'm extraordinarily young looking or incredibly trendy (although I'm not too shabby either!!). I'm always talking about old folk to my Uncle and he's 90 but to me he seems 75 so I think 'oldness' is a state of mind.

Loopy and Pippa, is it bad that I am still only 23 and I think 11 is a late night aswell? I try so hard, but come midnight at the latest I just want to put me jammies on and climb into bed ;-)

Also, I get up at about 6am at the weekends to get the washing out..... what has happened to me??

35 and i love getting older because i actually don't feel as if i am... but my attitude to life/people has changed hugely as i have hit my 30s - i look fantastic (better than i ever did... lol...), i have a huge amount of confidence and i don't have kids... so i never get reminded i am 'an oldie'!!

'Old', to me, is probably about 80.. but i am sure i won't think that at 80 :0)
