Bad news.....

Can anyone tell me what on earth they do when they are waiting for bad news, please...?

when im expecting bad news i always expect the worse

so the when i get the news its not normally as bad as i expected

and if i have to wait some time then i try to keep busy or do something to keep my mind off it

I'm waiting for an email - so i want to be at my desk... otherwise i would go for a walk or something... god it's so awful waiting!

My mind is full of it. Can't concentrate on work. Tried surfing. Had lunch. Counted to 100.

But i am still waiting.

I usually sit on the toilet..that way I don't have to keep running back & forth to the bathroom ;o)

Not necessarily waiting for bad news, but I try to think about something I have to think about. Like if I am trying to take my mind off something I will try and go through the alphabet phonetically i.e. Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, etc., as quickly as possible, and as soon as I make a mistake then I have to go back to the beginning.

Once I have made it all the way to the end without a mistake I pick another subject, like boys names and then start again, eg Alan, bryan, Carl, David, etc etc. Again, if I pause for too long or can't think of one I go to the start again until I can think of one. pick a subject that isn't too random though or else you will be there for hours.

It helps me when I'm feeling sick too as it takes your mind off it and by the time you have remembereed the feeling has passed.

That's amazing, I do the same as Natalie & also write down the phonetic alphabet, over & over again in italics, or any other fancy writing!

My older brother who was in the Army, taught me it when I was a little girl & it's something I've never forgotten.

Go for a walk .Unless you have to stay where you are of course or go on the internet and look up some joke sites.Laughter is the best medicine

PinkFizz... i know you were someone else, but i can't for the life of me remember who... although i knew when you changed (if that makes sense?) I have a feeling we are of a similar age, and that i liked you... lol... but i am so very easily confused!

STILL have not had the news. Been out all day to try and take my mind off it, but dang, if it won't keep popping back into my wee troubled brain!

smudge... prepare yourself... i am in a relationship with a bloke (an unconventional relationship) and there is a girl we really like and want her to become part of our relationship. We think she is going to turn us down, and we are gutted about that.
