Marriage.

How old were you when you got married? My friend and I were chatting (light heartedly) about the fact that we are never going to get married. Our other friends are doing it in their droves. We are both 27 and neither of us have met anyone we feel even remotely close to having walked down the aisle with. So are we getting to old and did anyone else start panicking about this as they head4ed toward the dreaded 30? Im not sure marriage is essential anymore but in my mind I quite fancy it.

We celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary in July and I wouldn't change a day of it. She's the best thing that ever happened to me so I'm glad I snapped her up even though we were young! By the way, she feels the same way about me before you ask! :o)
i was 28 and he was 38. i just talked with a friend of mine today who just went to weddings for two of her female friends - first time marrieds - who were in late 40's - 47 and 48 i think - good for them for waiting until they found the right guy! enjoy yourself and being single. being married is great, but if you enjoy spending time in your own company, dont rush anything you'll regret, just to "keep up" with your friends. happy singledom!
I was 28 at the weekend and I'm like you no closer to finding anyone. But I dont get myself down as my mate was 39 when she met her now husband and that was 2 years ago and she now has a beautiful little girl. I dont think marriage is essential nowadays but I'd rather have waited than get married young and make a big mistake. I dont let myself get worried about it coz society makes you think you HAVE to be Married with a child by 30. I'm more interested in having a full happy life :-)
I was 21 the first time, way too young in my opinion, for me anyway although i do think you can get married young and be very happy. Just didn't suit me and looking back i married for the wrong reasons.. The 2nd time is coming up for 2 years ago so 36. Much better, and we are very happy but we waited 9 years before taking the plunge, 2nd time around for us both. I think your mid 30s are a good age to do it but it really does depend on the individual and your needs and wants out of life.
