hiya! don't know if anyone can help but it's my dads 70th birthday in august. has anyone got any ideas of prezzies for the man who has everything! it doesn't have to cost alot, i would just like to make him smile and let him know that he is really loved. it can be something original or novelty. i want him to know that i care.
1) How about making him a scrapbook? fill it with photos, messages from friends and family etc
2) Binoculars, bird feeder and a book about birds (if he likes that kind of thing)
3) Talking books
4) Large print crossword book
5) card holder and extra large playing cards
6) A newspaper from the day he was born
7) Get the family (especially grandchildren) to make a video for him,
8) writing paper set
9) make up a calander with photo's of the family
Any good?
thanks mycats. some good ideas. i like the scrap book or video idea best. i think he would really like them. such a touching thoughful idea - shame it wasn't mine!
The Dangerous Book for Boys is going down well in our house - has a strange old-fashioned look to it (but you would need to order it in advance as it is currently out of stock!).
many of the online photo processing companies do a printed book of photos. You download the photos (scan old ones) and can write you own descriptions or logos. They usually cost about 20 and have 20 pages in i think. You could easily cram 80 photos in it covering the years. http://www.snapfish.co.uk/store/t_=1711
we actually went away for a family weekend for my dads 70th and doing the same for my mums(somewhere different). both parents are fortunate enough to have everything they need and do regularly see the family but never have a little holiday together. Was a bit more expensive than some of the ideas but we all had a lovely time was great spending that time together.
My Dad is now 75 and he never wants me to spend too much money and there's nothing he really wants last year I bought him a goat from Oxfam unwrapped and he loved it!! http://www.oxfamunwrapped.com/
