Stress classically affects your hair and can cause some hair loss.
Some people find they have strange bald patches when they are depressed. They do not realise that they are almost constantly fiddling with their hair, wrapping it round their fingers so tightly it breaks off.
If you are concerned, speak to your GP and get an unbiased opinion.

Hi
I suffer from bipolar disorder and have been on cipramil and lithium for years. I notice a change in my hair 'fall out' rate. When I am feeling really ill I shed much less hair than when I am healthy.
I also have PCOS (policystic ovaries) and have very irregular periods. Certain times of the month my hair falls out more than others.
My psychiatrist advised me to take mega-doses of Omega 3 EPA and it has really helped my moods. I pay about 18 for a two month bottle of tablets. I buy them from a specialist company on the internet as the tablets in the shop are not so 'potent'.
If you suffer from depression it seems that keeping your blood sugar levels stable also can help. I am on a low GI diet and am feeling good.
Good luck. Susan.
