i know this may sound silly but it has really made me angry.well yesterday we took our 2yr old out for a drive to southport to see the sea and to have a look at the fair, well she was having a great time,we were walking into the fair and a woman shouts in a nasty way, you cant go in there unless you buy a wristband which was 10.my little girl wont go on the rides we just wanted to show her, you know we werent allowed in,how mads that, what did she think we were going to steal a ride, you can go to blackpool and walk straight in and thats a big place, southports only little, cant get over this at all,im going to be writting a letter about her and how stupid i think it is to not let you in and look around
not sure the problem? was it a pay-entrance fair, then all the rides are free? Blackpool you pay for the rides individually, you wouldn't expect to walk into Alton Towers (I know it's a bit different scale) for free, even if you weren't going on the rides.
If it was an enclosed park/fair like Alton Towers as bob says, then fair enough, but if it was just a fair on the sea front then yes they are being a bit mean I think, especially as she only wanted to have a look.
southport is owned by the same people that own blackpool pleasure beach. this woman saying you have to buy a wristband was wrong. i have been there many times and you dont have to pay to get in.
I had the same problem, Although I bought wrist bands for myself and three children my mum still had to pay a fee to get in even tho I explained she wouldnt' be going on any of the rides.
wouldn't it make more sense to check wrists on entry to the rides...
wrist band = go ahead
No wirst band = not on your nelly!!
thankyou to everyone who emailed back.southport is only very small,it was the way she said we couldnt go in without buying a wristband, never said anything about a fee to walk around, ive just never heard such rubbish, yep ive been to alton towers lots of times i know you cant just walk in
