mine was @ rhyl when i was 8 at golden sands caravan park. on the second day there of a 2 week holiday i was swinging on a swing standing up, the swing seat disappeared and then i found it as it hit me on my head(no laughing please) i rushed to the caravan and the next thing i knew i was in hospital and had cracked my head open. a whole holiday wearing a turbon style head dress, no swimming, but got loads of smpathy from everyone there. Going to take my kids there in 2 weeks time. my son aint allowed on the swings without me. lol
When i was about 9 years old we went to cornwall, the ice cream was home made and out of this world! the beaches were superb, one beach we went to sticks in my mind as the sea just rippled in....ive not been back since so i think i must think about going on a holiday there someday.
one of mine was i was with an aunty and 3 young friends at blackpool pleasure beach, we passed a group of young lads age from 10--12, i was age 11, they started talking about us and one of them said i fancy the one in red shorts, can u believe it? that was me, i wore a big smile for the rest of the day.
On the same holiday i remember scrambling over some rocks on a remote beach and i fell and cut my hand open..my mum- god bless her- dressed it with sanitary towels , cut up to fit- my elder sister was laughing at me because i didnt know what a sanitary towel was! lol, the loops were wrapped tightly around my hand- makes me laugh to think of it!
mine was my first time on a plane without my parents,i was 11 went to malta with my auntie and uncle,we stayed in a posh hotel full board, loved wed nights curry night
I was 8, Butlins Skegness..
There was a little bush that according to one of the red coats had a cat that lived between the branches.

somehow he managed to convince me that the cat was there that day and if I looked hard enough I would find it..

So, I'm on my hands and knees searching for this cat... meeeooooooow! I could even hear it now, meeeooooww, meeeeeeeeooooooowww.. then, the bush started to move.
Aha! It's coming out to see me I thought, nope? maybe not.

35 minutes that guy had my auntie and uncle in stitches laughing at me, because I had my head shoved in the shrub, searching and listening for the cat.
I couldn't see the red coat giggling away with bursts of meeeeoooowww, a shake of the leaves..meeeeooooooww

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Never trust a red coat - they're evil!!
Ahh Butlins - the memories. 1986 : Minehead. Same band every night in the Wessex room - you knew what time of night it was by what song they were playing. Fancy dress comps - I came second in a powder blue swimsuit , two oranges stuffed down the front , a sash belt from my mum's dress around my head and a toilet roll sash with "Miss Boobs 1986" scrawled across it in lipstick - Guess who forgot to pack a fancy dress costume ? This was my mum's hastily thrown together little number for me and at 11 years old , I had no boobs - hence the oranges down the front ! I came runner up to twins who were in shop bought rocket outfits - pah !
Having to be resued from the monorail when it broke down , dodgy uncooked chips , Rod Hull getting as drunk as a skunk and popping Emu's head up the women's skirts before being hastily replaced on stage and the piece de resistance - Mr Magic's magic show where you could see things falling out of his sleeves but I wouldn't have changed it for the world because that's what memories are made of and we still all laugh about it.
Corton caravans near lowestoft in suffolk every year until they shut in the 80s!!
what a lovely thread (makes a ruddy change from the smut for you mnko eh? LOL)

Smiled reading them all.
The Holiday that stands out to me was when I was about 14, we always went to St Marys bay in Kent, but this time was different,my sisters friend came, It turned out to be my best holiday as a child cos I fell in love with Dianne, we spent so much time together and my sister didn't mind either, walking along the beach, holding hands, talking, laughing and no snogging, but they are wonderful memories, you really never do forget your first love, I am still very fond of her, we send each other cards at christmas, we were never going to grow old together as we grew apart, but what a lovely memory, good question, i'm sitting here all dreamy again .
My Dad took me to a Country Fair somewhere when I was about 5? 6? We had a really lovely day and he won me a big cuddly toy thing and we had candyfloss and chips and sat on the grass. Very gentle, very nice day and it really sticks in my mind.
