ive just come back from shopping with my brother he has a disabled badge as he has ms and finds it hard to work very far, well we couldnt find a space anywhere,i got out and went looking round, you know what a woman with her two kids went into one ,she had no badge on her car,so i went up to her and said,do you know these spaces are for the disabled, she said yep i know but im not going to be long, well that did it for me,i said my brother has been driving round for 20mins looking for a space and he needs this more than you do,are you going to move the car,she said no you park somewhere else,im not really a nasty person but she was being cheeky infront of her kids so i said if you dont move your car ill move it myself.she just walked away laughing into the shop, i waited 10mins she never came out so i and a passer by who was a very nice man we pushed her car out of the way and we parked there ourselves,my brother went into the shops i waited incase she came back,my bro was back before her,he got in and we drove off, as we were driving away we saw a warden going up to the car,i hope the stupid selfish cow got a ticket, some people are so cruel

You and her are suited for one another, and that is not a compliment, you both remind me of LEA out of big brother, you think that people are slagging you off when in reality you both cannot see no further than your nose

ive had enough of people calling me and now to say how can he drive if he cant walk, did i ever say he couldnt ,his legs hurt him so much sometimes he doesnt drive,ok ethel do you know what its like to have ms if not then dont condone them that do,other people with far worse than my brother drive ive said i know im in the wrong but now you are too for saying what you did and by the way way should he have parked somewher else arent these spaces for people like him
Ethel, with respect, I have MS, and i find your first comment very cruel. We are allowed to drive provided the DVLA are aware of our brain disease and what drugs we are given for our symptoms.
Or do you find all people in wheelchairs and problems with walking should not be allowed to drive?
The DLA, if we qualify, as i do, give financial support to get our cars adapted. I really will end up trapped here, a body in a bed waiting to die, in the meantime, whilst i am still able to get out under my own steam I will.

luckily i take no notice of laurence as usual, but this was never an issue about a disabled person it was about the sister tradey, taking action against another woman, and my issue is nothing to do with any sort of disability but with the actions of someone who has over reacted. I hope your brother is well and not too worried about his car registration number being handed to the police.
Unfortunately, Ethel decided to attack the 'disabled' by saying we shouldnt be driving.
Ethel please..... tell me why myself and other disabled drivers should not be allowed to drive.
Alternatively, to save tradeys inbox getting filled, please post up a seperate thread explaining why we shouldn't be driving.

I am very aware of the symptoms and problems of MS and have every sympathy. I also know that many people with MS have had their driving licenses revoked, my niece being one because of the severity of her illness.
I am a senior citizen with health problems that entile me to DLA so also have help with my car and a blue badge, so understand all the problems that tradey has highlighted.
I did not mean to be cruel in any way.
I stand by most previous post though.

so you do understand how hurtful that was ethel?.... and your comments would have hurt your neice, if that was your opinion when she was still able to drive.
I will hang up my driving spurs when the time comes, and will be quite happy to give up my licence. My darling partner will do all the driving then.
Is your neice still with us?

The issue isn't about disabled people not being allowed to drive either, if any person with a medical condition is not passed as fit enough to hold a valid license by a doctor, then they are not allowed to drive. Not because they are disabled, but because they are medically disqualified from holding a valid license. My Dad had to re-take his test every few years once he turned a certain age, think it was 75, he himself felt he shouldn't drive very often even though the doctor passed him as fit to drive.
Yes , my niece is still with us, thanks.
And she was heartbroken to lose her licence, and now uses her mobility allowance to pay for taxi fares. Thankfully she can zoom her wheelchair straight inside the taxi, so no undignified manhandling.
She would be mortified at such a scene tradey describes as she is and always has been very dignified and proud.
Many many times I have gone out in my car and had to come home because I could not get a parking space within walking range of my destination. It's just one of those things I have to accept as part of my disability. Now I avoid going out at busy times and normally manage ok.

personally i cant still really understand where they put the car ... was it a carpark? If there was another space to put it into within pushing distance, surely that is also walking distance?, or wheelchairing distance or whatever. so why didnt you just park there? If it was on the road then the issue of having space to open the door for a wheelchair dosent come into it at all as you can open the door as wide as you like if in a road parking space. If they just left the car in the middle of a carpark/road then i am speechless!
From the sound of things - it would seem that the car ws just moved out of the space, so I would imagine it was pushed backwards int the 'road' in the car park.
Hopefully it was in a suitable position, so it didn't obstruct other traffic trying to park their cars, or was not blocking a public highway - which is also an offence (this law wouldn't be enfoceable in a private carpark though eg supermarket).
If the person who owns the car has recieved a ticket for either parking violations or blocking a highway - she could face fines of 30-60 (avg) or the carparks standard charge if they have one - or possibly even clamping (private firm) + the release charge --- so anything up to 100!!!.........If TRADEY is on CCTV or can be traced via registration number - she could be liable for these fines plus additional costs........she would also need to consider the possibility of a criminal damage charge or a public order offence.
Sorry to sound harsh and I know what you did was just in the heat of the moment - but you REALLY should've thought it through before you acted!! =:-)
