I have a blister on my heel, its been there 3 days and hasn't burst, is it better to leave it or burst it? I haven't been wearing shoes since but if I have to it is going to burst anyway.

Blisters!! Don't you just hate them! I suffer terribly whenever I go travelling...the girlfriend and I explored most of europe and one thing I made sure I had an ample supply of was nice big fabric plasters for blisters on my heels!

Left unburst the skin will not reattatch itself to your foot, it is basically dead, I like to pop it with a pin, cut it away neatly with a pair of nail scissors, wash it (sea water is great) and slap a great big plaster on it. Fabric!! NOT those rubbish plastic ones.
last week i went down the beach with no socks on, and a blister developed in just a few hours, i went back down the beach that evening, kicked off my shoes to go swimming and took off all the skin, couldnt walk properly for days and i still have a scab, i think you should pop the blister but dont take off the skin, if you need to do any vigerous activity or walking put a plaster on it, but make sure you let it breathe at some point, yea and the salt water works too
look in any first aid book and they will tell u never to burst a blister, u will leave it open to infection
don't burst it!!!..just cover it with a dry dressing...like has been said before you'll run a higher risk of infection otherwise!!
if you do burst it - don't cut the skin off!!

do it soon though, it is not dead for a while and will heal back

Thanks everyone, I popped it with a pin, squeezed all the liquid out and put a plaster on, there is still no pain, and hopefully I will be able to wear shoes at the weekend to go walking again.
hi

buy one of those blister plasters. i think they are called compeed. it will cushion your blister and the plaster usually falls off when the blister is heeled!! (no pun intended)
Oh ok I'm wrong then about removing the skin...I've tried both ways and I know which way I prefer.

I'm also the type of person who picks scabs!
