I don't fear my own death but I do fear the deaths of those I love.
Amara, I am not stressing lol !!

I am just wondering how people who really believe that when they die they just STOP by all our comprehension of that, can be so placid about it. I mean, ending, absolutely nothing.

It doesn't feel right to the mind that evolution (or God) gave us.
Well it is a scientific fact that energy can't be destroyed, but it can change form, so how then can anyone ever think that we simply cease to exist? But people still do. Unfortunately we live in a world where people are fed information to keep them under control and it is difficult to break free of the bonds and experience things as they really are. I know for sure that there is nothing to fear except fear itself. Amara xx
I find it odd that a lot of people fear the one thing that they know with certainty will happen to them. I'm not afraid, I'm just worried about the way it happens. Like everyone I dont really want to be dependant on anyone else and I dont want my loved ones to suffer. However, I am a spiritualist and have tried to explain that to my children..I dont want tears I want a celebration of my life and a confidence in them that they know I'll always be around, just in a different room
In a different room ?

So we don't just STOP then ?
why would we stop? I don't believe we do, in fact I know we dont. I have had a lot of visits from spirit so I know, which is very comforting for me..but its not something you can convince other people of. If the have never had that sort of experience, then how would they know
whoop, sorry , didnt answer your question, in a different room is my way of trying to explain to people that our loved ones are still there on another dimension..most people understand that just cos someone is in another room with the door closed, doesn't mean there not there
i dont fear death..... what i do fear is the pain i would leave for my family... there will never be a cure for death, so we have to accept it WILL happen one day...

ive lost three members of my immediate family. all three were ill before they were taken, but NOTHING can prepare you for that one piece of news you always dreaded...

so, to answer the question in a simple way...

i dont fear death. i fear the pain i will leave for my family...
my kids in particular.
amara, sorry love but you're dead wrong. energy can be destroyed, or more accuratley eroded. thats how a car can stop running, thats how u get tired. energy is exhaustible. its matter that cant be destroyed, only transformed from one form to another.
until someone proves to me there's something more, (preferably by a big bloke with a white beard going "hoy, there's something more"), you need to realise that dead is dead, you're either ash or worm food... and memories dont last either.
i used to fear death but no more i think when i die ill see my dad again thats what makes it better to deal with

I'm not afraid of dying I just don't want to be there when it happens! (Woody Allen)
The chances are when we die we will be in pain. It's either that or up the morphine dose till that kills you.
Isn't it interesting that most of the people we know (or knew) who are close to dying are not scared anymore as much as we are?
that i just cease to exist, or be alone
Death really really scares me, its the thought of the unkown and the possiblity of nothingness!! I hate it.
I think about it all the time!! I complain about my life a lot but all in all i do love living, i just don't ever want it to end!!

Does that make me strange!!
Question Author
defo doesn't make you strange o9roberts, it really scares me as well, i think about it alot and it freaks me out, the thought of not being here.
cant remeber who said it but i find it to be true

"no man fears being dead he only fears the act of dying"
also ive been told i'll die at the age of 82 by a clumsy nurse giving me an overdose of morphine...HAPPY DAYS
those who don't have spirituality tend to be the ones who hate death most, i know it sounds clech' but deep down each one of us there is good and bad , the real struggle in this life is to let the goodness in us win over evil ,life is just a short phase after which we will move on to eternal life , what we do and the desisions we make now will dictate wherewe end up ,and it is simple ,either eternal bliss were you feel no sadness on pain no misery or eternal hell were no one can save you .why not do the right thing ,i mean after all it is a small small price to pay for eternal happiness and you always feel as if you own the world when you do a good deed isn't that weird?
a small price to pay .
i fear looking older but it might sound starange but im excited to see what happens after i die!
