Pretty name, Rivka - haven't heard that name before.
(I used to be CompNut, but a few weeks ago that name got cancelled - haven't a clue why, as I'd not been posting anything for ages, having been away. So I'm a greenie again now.)
nox - that's a lovely name, really unusual - how did you decide on it?
my sis is looking for a name for her baby - she's off for a scan on Monday and thinks she's going to find out the sex is she can........it's really hard choosing a name that sounds good but is also suitable as a muslim name (her partner is muslim carribean) so far she likes...
ah now I remember you, old git that I am. How you keeping? I have the little madam on my lap now hence being up at this hour.My wife's friend is living with us at the moment with her 5 month old and they set each other off so I've the pair of them here wide awake.lol
petes, those names are both attractive. Is there a special book of Muslim names, (like the Pan Book of Girls / Boys names type of thing? ) Hope your Sister's scan will show whether there's a girl or boy in there ! How far along is she in the pregnancy?
about 22 wks - but the hospital have changed her date twice so far so who knows - she's gone from being due at the end of November to due at the end of Sept!!
It was after one of my wife's family who survived the death camps ( they're Jewish). Amira is pretty though I like that. Our other daughter is Sha'ori, which I believe is Egyptian.
wow, nox those names are so pretty and really unusual - bet there isn't another one of those in their classes at school, so much better than your boring everyday names!!
My son is called Peter and funnily enough it is really unusual as lots of people seem to go for 'trendy' names rather than traditional ones........he is named after a combination of Peters' - Sellars, Townsend, Cook and maybe even Beardsley too!!
I love being a Dad and Christ no nowhere near my first.
I have in order Harry 22(stepson ), Danny 21, Richard 18, Aiden 17, Joe 15, Luc 14, Matthew 10 ( sort of step son), Sha'ori 8,Ciaran 4, and Rivka 3 months, not that they are all still at home, some of the older ones have flown the nest but it's still like a mad house. I love kids, so exciting having children and they're so honest and genuine. I love the way theyre all completely different. Is it your sisters first baby?
Love Peter Cook and Pete Sellars, genius's both of them. We went a bit mad on the girl's names and were quite traditional with the lads for some reason.
Sha'ori is a lovely name too, nox. How old is she now?
It was amazing that anyone survived the death camps and the terrible conditions in them. I hope the lady had a good and happy life after the War. It is a tribute to the original Rivka that you have named your little girl after her.
