I use a good quality razor and shaving gel on my bikini line, but within couple of hours, get a red, raised, spotty rash, which lasts for days and looks pretty awful! Does anyone have any advice on prevention and is there anything I can put on the area to soothe it and stop the rash? Many thanks.
shaving is not a good idea, whilst aftersun creams will help it won't stop the rash. Waxing is better, it can cause some redness at first but within a day at most it has gone ... far better than shaving.

Agree with Wendy, try waxing or sugaring it lasts longer, for pain control/soreness Boots do a pre treatment desensitizer [as do Hairdressing suppliers like Sally's] and also a post treatment cream - or try aloe vera gel
I recommend slapping on a very generous handful of moisturiser (unscented, like baby oil etc) straight after shaving, works for me, i'm not brave enough for that waxing stuff!!
Nelli has got something - Tend Skin is aspirin based. My bottle has just arrived in this mornings post! so not had chance to try it out, but have heard good reports from different sources.

DO NOT shave your bikini line. Waxing is definitely the best option. Yes, it hurts but that is momentary and definitely worth it. If your not up for waxing, the second best option is to use a depilatory cream though you will still get spots after this but probably not as bad. Use either a scrubbing mit or an exfoliating cream every day when you shower.
PinkZep I spoke to a Doctor friend as I have the same problem, I have always shaved like you, and he told me never to get a wax because women like you and me have sensitive skin down there and a wax is too much trauma, he said the best thing to do is save up and get professional electrolysis. Sorry to burst the bubble.
