anyone have or know someone with a cervical stitch?
3 Answers
I have one and know 3 other people with them, my awful consultant wants mine removed at 38 weeks, i feel this is far to late on as if i go into spotaneous labour it could tear my cervix and cause permanent damage. My friends (in other areas) are all having theirs removed at 36 weeks.
If you or someone you know has had a stitch, what gestation was it removed?
thanks

A friend had her stitch removed during labour!
All was well with both.
The problem is that removing the stitch can cause labour to come on very quickly. That can be a little too early for the good of the baby.
I'm sure you will be closely monitored.
If you are still concerned chat to your GP or midwife.
Good luck!

I have just been talking to my mum on msn about this for you cause she is a community midwife.
she says if you go into active labour it will get taken out or once you reach full term or maybe when your consultant feels that your baby has a very good chance of survival at a pre term geatation, say at 36 weeks.
Babies dont just fall out and although he maybe a co*k its still in his interest to do whats best for you. I am sure it will be fine and I wish you the very very very best.
