It's often the case that advocates of mumbo-jumbo invoke some scientific principle to try to make it sound more believable. In this case, I see she's dragging in Unified Field Theory - itself an unproven Holy Grail to many scientists. I doubt she fully understands what unified field theory is meant to be, and it's silly that the journalist hasn't looked into it.
The only way it could work is that by wishing for it, you make yourself try to achieve it more, rather than some vague notion of being at one with the universe. But it will appeal to people who want to get things without any effort.

I'm afraid it's hard to be positive about this Debbz. It's no better than a chain letter being sent round telling you that if you send it on to 10 other people your hearts desires will come true.
The best way to achieve your goals is to work hard for them. A posiitve outlook is an excellent and commendable thing to have, but won't get you anywhere on its own.
I'm starting a new book today called "Sleeping your way to Success". In it, I'm going to claim that dreaming puts you in a mystical state where you're connected with the universe, the future and the past. Basically it allows your soul to wander. The more time you spend dreaming the more time you spend in contact with the universe and you subsequently gain increased awareness of the world around you. I'll invite all answerbankers along for a cup of tea in my gold castle when I've sold 5 million of these babies.

It's funny, I was posting earlier in a thread about people overreacting to comments and I think that's what the questioner here has done. I'm actually quite a positive person but that doesn't mean I have to be positive about every single thing! And as others have said, it's hard to be positive about the notion of just thinking or writing stuff you want to happen and then expecting it to.
I think there's a lot to be said by being positive about things you want to achieve and not placing mental barriers in front of them - that helps but you have to still work at achieving it.
debbz, I didn't intend you wind you up, I just gave my honest answer although I accept you were wanting to hear from people who have tried it rather than the likes of me.

Backdrifter, you didn't wind me up. Honest..
Its just that having read about it in the papers I just wondered if anyone had actually done this and had it worked.
Now people think I'm going to give up working for a living sell my house and go and live in a tree and hug a squirrel.
PS. Does anyone want to but a 3 bed semi!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Debbz - Yes I have been doing this for several years now. And yes it works, but I find only if it is for my higher good and not out of greed or materialism. It is not a new thing though and lots of Spiritual people have been doing it for a very long time. I suppose it works along similar lines to the universal law of "reap what you sow" in other words if you treat someone badly you will get that back.
When you go shopping, just ask your Guardian Angel for a nice car parking space ... and you will get it. Unfortunately you can't ask to win the lottery cos too many people are involved, it just has to be about you. Also I was waiting for a hopefully benign tumour to be diagnosed, I asked my Guardian Angel if she/he could get rid of it .. two days later it had gone. It was only small by the way, and outside the body, like a melanoma, but it went. I am hooked - try it.
