socks with shorts

i tend to wear knee length white socks with my tight white tennis shorts and maybe I'm imagining it but i seem to think some people are sniggering at my attire, are they? and do they have reason to? i find it quite hurtful as i feel i look quite stylish :(

I'm afraid that it is almost as bad as men who wear socks with sandals. Just wear short sports socks instead of long socks. You can get 5 pairs for about �2/3 in most clothe or market outlets.
