I hate having a shower and needing another an hour later. Have just done some housework -namely hoovering up all the little heffing flies only to find they are replaced straight after - and ended up in a lather. I used to love the summer when I was young but now I'm approaching 50 (sshh !!) I love the autumn and winter best.
Hopefully it wont last too much longer. Trouble is that i think people reckon youre a misery if you say you dont enjoy the heat.

I would never accuse anyone of being a misery for not enjoying this glorious weather ...we are all different !
I love it ,and have spent most of the time out in the garden or down on the beach .Housework can go and jump as the dust will still be there when it's cold and raining.
I love the warmth and the sultry evenings ..although I have to admit we do badly need rain for the gardens and to freshen the air.
I am lucky in that I have retired now ..but I have done my share of sweaty tube travel and hot workplaces so I don't feel guilty !
I dread the cold and damp and dark evenings and drying washing indoors....being arthritic it seeps into my bones .A few more weeks of this will do me nicely !

I've felt totally exhausted by the heat, especially when it hasn't really cooled down at night and it's been impossible to sleep.
But we unexpectedly had an hour of heavy rain this afternoon. I was so delighted to see it that I sat on the patio under our gazebo and just enjoyed watched the rain stream down , listening to the heavy drops splattering on the canvas roof. It felt just like being a girl guide back at camp in a tent again, and now the air is fresh and cool and I may actually get a good night's sleep tonight. Don't think I could have lasted out much longer but I fear there's more heat to come next week.
