Contact Lenses on Sunbed

As anyone wore there contact lenses while using a sunbed? In the shop it says remove them but i only go on for 3 mins so want to know if it's safe to wear them as i always put the goggles on as well.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I imagine it is a precautionary measure and meant as a disclaimer, such as against someone saying, hey my contact lenses have dried up and crackled, they could say - well it says quite clearly here to remove them... etc etc.
There is of course the risk that the lenses could dry out, but I know of many people who wear them throughout their session with no problems. As to whether it is safe or not I don't know, but one for your own personal judgement and you would have to accept responsibility for the risks/outcome. Whether you wear lenses or not, the goggles/eye protectors should always be worn whilst the UV lights are on.
