Absolutely adore snails - to eat that is!!

Even bought myself an escargotierre (small s/s plate with indentations and special pincers), so I could buy the ready to cook (garlic butter added) ones from Selfridges.

They are fresh water snails - not your garden variety!
No more chewy than a firm prawn really. Perhaps in-between a prawn and squid for texture.
Plenty of bread is required to soak up the lovely garlic butter.

There's not much in the foodie line that I can't/won't eat - have always been adventurous - and will try anything new on the menu!

Oysters are an acquired taste - the only thing I haven't enjoyed.... All that money and you just swallow 'um down lol :o)

i love this chinese thing, its a dried salted prune with licorice (sp) i think they are heaven but everyone else thinks i'm odd, outside of my family (malaysian side) i have yet to meet anyone who likes them yet they are readily available. on the hate side mushrooms can't stand the things urghhhh
mccfluff - yeah, can't remember the name of them, they come in paper wrappers, always end up sucking the last bit of flavour out of the pit, delish.

My hate: okra, unless they're fried to a crisp.
mcfluff has reminded me of another one both my mum and I find so scrummy...

Chicken Feet in black bean sauce - yum yum

Most restaurants that serve Dim Sum lunches have them on the menu...

We always order 2 portions, whereas the other dishes we choose, we share...
kannas, is what i've always called them but i think that's just a name we made up!, don't have them in wrapper tho gill just on their own, dried papaya is good too
My worst nightmare is finding myself starving on a desert island and being given a plate of cooked kidneys, heart and tripe to eat.
