Yes mycats, they are doing just that. Questions of even meritable content are disappearing because someone is green, or can't quite spell properly.

I know, I joined CS a few months before everyone else from here and didnt go back for months (till everyone else joined) after posting 2 questions because I was moaned at for something and accused of being an alias, it's not nice.

Well I have just got back in to AB, so haven't seen the threads before they disappeared.

I don't agree with reporting threads simply because of who has posted them. In fact the only time I reported a thread was because I was sick of the ABer putting all their threads in B&S, even though it was a Q for Animals & Nature. And yes, it was who you may be thinking ;o)

Surely the Ed must be able to tell a person is using multiple usernames by their IP address? There are going to be exceptions, there are a few partners on here etc, but even if a poster posts from home, work/school etc, the pattern must be easy enough to detect so mistakes aren't made with innocent posters?

If a thread is really bad, it should be allowed to stink in the open.

The current treatment of anything green or vaguely "suspicious" is horrible.

jiggy, banning by IP address is not as simple as it sounds. My IP address this evening for example, is different from the one I had yesterday.

Also, if you ban a pc, who's to know if you are banning a whole family because of one errant member.

Would you IP ban Birmingham public library ?

Is there any way modern technology can detect whose fingers are on the keyboard ?

Very true whiffy, that's why i was saying it's difficult, but surely there must be some way of protecting innocent posters?
I know what you mean mycats but when a posting is reported, according to the rules, it doesn't automatically disappear, it just gets put up to be reviewed and then removed if there's a good reason for it.
It's all very fishy and extremely unfriendly whoever is behind it all.

But also maybe this new Mod is employed for evenings and weekends when ABEd isn't here? and that they will remain in the background lurking and controlling AB, so we won't ever hear from them, just feel their wrath so to speak!
