Dents on fingernails

Recently, my boyfriend has noticed that he has quite obvious dents on a couple of his fingernails, which are quite pronounced. He hasn't dropped anything on it. Any ideas?

Yeah i get them from time to time. Haven't looked into it but i assume it's down to a lack of some sort of vitamin. They do grow out however so i wouldn't worry too much.

there called ridges it is really common can be prevented by buffing alltho your bf may refuse to do this
