Conditioner as handcream

Has anyone tried using conditioner as handcream? It's the most fantastic way of making your hands soft. It's like an expensive serum, and since hair and skin are made of more or less the same stuff (keratin) it's quite logical I suppose. Does anyone have any other (sensible) tips?

No but I use it if I have to quickly dry shave my legs
I've never specifically used it for my hands but when i'm in the shower and i rinse my hair my skin always seems softer!
I use vaseline intensive care for hands & nails ~ a little goes a long way, it does a fab job & is cheaper than my conditioner :o)
