death and scents

my uncle recently died in a macmillan hospice. The day before he passed away i was in his room with him (10:30pm)when the room became filled with the overpowering scent of flowers.there were no flowers in the room at the time and as it was late at night it was doubtfull that the gardeners were out. After he passed away the local minister who was on call that night told me that he had come across this phenomona many times before and that it was a sign of peace and forgiviness to those that were about to pass away.Has anyone else come across this experiance

i have been working with dying people for 10 years and have never experienced that. I have experienced having to use air fresheners around hospices though. if im honest, i would say that the minister was trying to comfort you - and why not? If dying people could alter or communicate things i would have thought they would do something more definate than making a nice smell
After the funeral of my father, My mother myself ,and two sisters were all sitting quietly in the lounge discussing my fathers demise, when all at once there was an overwhelmingly strong smell of his aftershave lotion. It was extreemly strong, we all smelt it at the same time, and realised it was dad saying I am still here, dont cry for me. Joint experiences like the above, prove to me the existence of the soul after bodily death.
ms.skippy and dundana are the same person. Read the Q, then read the first reply by dundana, answering the post of tonyted! Realises their mistake, so posts another reply saying, "Yes it happened to me too".
The gaff on their first reply at 21.41 mentions 'uncle' same as the original Q.
I put in "busted", but only joko picked up on the obvious faux pas!

Hi rugeleyboy
I first read the actual post by dundana, then realised that the username wasn't in green, which alerted me to look at the original Q, and saw it was a different name altogether!
I think in order to take the heat off this thread, dundana started another post regarding life/death, hoping this would slip off the page. Which, with the mnko thread gaining momentum, had all and sundry interested in a more entertaining topic!!
