Life for a Life

Evening all,
I'm probably going to upset some folks with this thread, but it's something that I feel quite strongly about.
Do you think that if someone murders a person and is found 100% guilty of it that they should spend the next whatever amount of years in prison.......
Why keep these people in prison?.....living the life of riley, which most of them do.
I say bring back capital punishment, if they take a life, surely they should have theirs taken away too.

i aggree with you ,bring back the death penalty ,these days with all the advancements with forensics ,dna tests etc etc, it is unlikely that an innocent person would be wrongly executed ,as i believe they have in the past.
the way crime is going in this country i think we need a firmer,more severe deterrent than those that are in place at the moment

I think wardy was trying to say that the only sentence for murder is life, which was also my point. If I murdered someone they'd HAVE to give me life whatever the reason, it's the only sentence.

I'm not entirely sure wardy, I think she misunderstood your answer. I thought you were saying that there are no sentencing trials in a murder case because the only sentence is life once a guilty verdict is returned, I'm not sure how she read it.That was what you were saying wasn't it?

Sadly not wardy,I'm a terminal insomniac ( get about 4 hours sleep usually) and I'm often up this late milling around on here looking for interesting threads but I always post s***e by this time of night..lol

Can I just say something about the case I was talking about....one lad said he didnt stamp on him .....the other pleaded guilty....it turned out that the forensics found both had stamped on him...every bone in his face was smashed....and he was 200 yards from his home.....
