Hi,

This is on behalf of a friend.

Has anyone ever had CI, is it painful?......my friend has had major problems with constipation for YEARS and can easily go 3-4 weeks between going, and obviously is in quite a lot of discomfort. she has tried every remedy going, natural & chemical but nothing seems to help.

She has considered colonic irrigation but is put off by the pain factor.....even got as far as making an appt but cancelling it coz she lost the nerve.

has anyone got any experience of this and would it benefit her?

thanks in advance

Hi p_d,

Answered this before, but and it is a BIG but, regarding CI for health/beauty(?) will look it up, and post link...
Research it, beyond the obvious benefits of a tube up the bum there isn't much going for it.

i havent had colonic irrigation done but i went with my friend who was very nervous.it isnt painful.just uncomfortable.it feels like a mild period pain.the sensation of feeling lighter afterwards is great.hope this helps.

of course, those people have something to sell, but it's quite informative. Haven't tried it myself.
it isn't painful at all.

it feels a bit odd and give you a sensation of being very full but there is no pain

i guess it can't hurt to give it a go

(tell her to get straight home afterwards as you will have diarhoea for bit)
That's what I said joko, not painful but uncomfortable...

Mine of course was for medical reasons, so I could be given a barium meal, then X-Rayed...

I suffered more discomfort I suppose because of the ulcer...

However, having said that my insides were pearly clean afterwards (according to the consultant) LOL
Colonic irrigation can potentially cause severe adverse effects and must be carefully administered ... there is a risk of bowel perforation.

Colonic irrigation should not be used in people with diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, severe or internal hemorrhoids or tumors in the rectum or colon.

I am convinced that in 100 years time people will be laughing themselves silly at the very idea of colonic irrigation. Especially with coffee!

Well I didn't get offered leaded or unleaded lol
cinnamon on my cappuccino pse jno!
there'd be sprinklings of chocolate alrite!!! but lets not even go there. lol
I felt sorry for the sister with the sluice bucket!!

I've just thought of p_d's friend - 3 or 4 weeks without going... holy smoke, does he eat? Does he explode?
