Every time i buy a pair of trainers of shoes after about 6 months of wearing them I find the trainers themselves become smelly. As a result wearing them for a few hours and then taking them off becomes a stinky affair. Any advice on how to prevent this happening?
(I have tried putting shoes in the washing machine which works for about a day then it gets worse than it was b4)

Apart from the usual odour eaters type things, try filling them overnight with oderised cat litter every now and again. sounds bizarre but it does work!!
6 months is long enough to have trainers, try washing your feet more
I NEVER wear the same pair of shoes for two days in a row. This gives the shoes time to dry out, all of our feet sweat and apparently your shoes need at least 24 hours to dry out, then when you wear them again you're not putting new sweat on top of old sweat. I have never had the problem of smelly shoes. Hope this helps.
Sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda in them overnight.
Got to ask Trojanfarce how the hell did you find that out? What ever possesed you to put cat litter in your shoes???
Sherry, I've been desperately thinking of something witty or clever to answer you, but I can't!! I'm afraid it falls into the category of ''someone told me some time ago'', so i tried it.
Tried wearing trainer socks? Also if your trainers aren't leather but a synthetic material I'm afraid this will happen.
I was imagining you after a night in the pub going to to fill the cats tray and missing Troganfarce :0)

LMAO @ Sherry!! I was thinking along the lines of ''The cat missed and filled a trainer...." type thing when I was looking for a funny answer!!
