How far is too far?

After the Terrorists Lovers question I'm seriously interested in how far some of our right wing members would be prepared to let our politicians go in the "War against Terror"

We already have indefinate imprisonment without trial at Guantanamo which seems OK with a lot of you.

If the Americans announced that they'd held trials there and started executions would that be OK?

What about if they started picking up people and executing them without a trial - would you draw the line then?

What about if it were not terrorists but their families or people who said in public that they could appreciate their point of view?

Where is your line? What would be a step too far for you?

a very immature attempt at twisting the current situation to Nazi germany, really quite obvious but what can you expect from someone who sides with terrorists. Don't worry maybe one day you will grow out of it, I am sure its just a phase, next week it will be battery farming or free hemp shoes for all.

I believe a mature discussion can only be truly established when both parties respect each other and their differing views. This is not a discussion but rather gang up on one person or another. Grow up and learn from each other and not fight if you really are mature!

It amazes me that some of the more vociferous posters in these increasingly hysterical posts about the dangers of terrorism bang on about how we must take any measures necessary to defend our freedoms and way of life, when some of those self same measures constitute a threat all of their own!

Human Rights are now denigrated, civil liberties are being curtailed left right and centre, all the" freedom loving " democracies are imposing ever more draconian laws unchallenged by the public. Orwells 1984 is with us now.

And what else do these self same supporters claim? That anyone who expresses a view at odds with their own worldview is by implication a terrorist... now there is some reasoned, objective, rational debate for you.

The level of fear demonstrated by these posts is disturbing to say the least. It is also quite obvious that the recent events have provided an easy outlet for the closet xenophobia that is so prevalent in many.

I do oppose a view that is different to mine if that view involves me being blown into millions of pieces. Just like the terrorists themselves there is a very vocal MINORTIY on this site.
