OK, first things first. Get yourself a new blade, and some foam with aloe vera, or similar foam for sensitive skin.
Second, try shaving at night before you go to bed - skin is not at its best in the morning.
Soak a flannel in hot water, hot enough to burn your hands. Ring it out (come on, be butch!) and soak it again, and quickly hold it firmly against your throat, and face, over your nose, you'll have rememebered to take a deep breath first of course!
Lather up for a good two or three minutes, letting the lather realy soak in well, massageing your face all the time.
Start under your sideburns and shave really slowly down in nice slow strokes, not going over the same area twice. Never shave 'up' against the growth. Take your time, be very gentle, don't press on, let the blade glide over your skin.
To finish, splash cold water on your face and pat dry with a towel. Rub in some moisturiser. Go to bed.
Next morning, rub in a little moisturiser, and splash your cologne / aftershave on your forehead, a little in your sideburns. but not on your face.
After following this routine, your poor abused skin will start to recover from the hammering you are giving it.
OK, you may not get every single whisker, but who's to know? Whereas right now, everyone knows you shave badly.
Pamper your skin - it deserves it, so drop the 'dettol and bog brush' routine and start being kind. You'll stop bleeding as well!
