A tad embarressing however I might have haemoroids but, without having this before, am not sure whether it is and what to do about it i.e. creams or see the doctor? It is on the rim' as opposed to internal.

How do you get these and any experiences would be appreciated.

Sounds like sour grapes to me!!

I had them myself, not nice, you can get cream to rub over them and push them back in if they come out, but I should go and see your Dr, make sure you are not constipated as this will cause the problem and aggravate it. No need to panic, not nice but easily sorted.
I had those when pregnant- so you've got my every sympathy!!!

Yep they can and usually are external, usually feel like little nuggets (sorry if anyone's eating!)

Haemorrhoid cream is usually very effective, I only saw my GP for cream as I got it free due to being pregnant.
Definately see the doctor or even the practice nurse. I thought that`s what I had, but it was fissures which needed a different type of cream.
Col, this is nothing you need to be ashamed about. Honestly, most people get these at some time in their life. If you can't go to the doctor and have something prescribed, go to your chemist and they will advise you on a suitable cream. Try Anusol, it is excellent!
Hemorrhoids can have various causes, see http://www.general-surgery.co.uk/problems/haem orroids.htm

Try not to strain when you have bowel movements, as this will make things worse. I could give you more advice, but the link says it all really. Hope you feel better soon.
Oh, and ladies, did you know that one of the best beauty secrets, used by top models all over the world, for puffy eyes and wrinkles under the eyes is hemorrhoid cream. Used it for years and ... it works!!!
