Just to divert from the chatting - here is the answer to your Question!
The Answerbank was started in 2000 by a company called FreontOfMind which is a subsidiary of The Daily Mail. It employed seven journalists as Channel producers, each had a specific catagory - a couple had two - and for their catagory, each Producer wrote and posted three features per week on the Site. It was the CP's job to answer any questions which were posted, based on their knowledge of their individual subject, for which they were originally hired. As a startter, eac CP posted some Questyions on their Section to get the ball rolling, and the Site went 'live'.
After a couple of years, the owners decided that the Site would stand alone as a Q & A site, and the features, and journalists, were jettisoned.
I was the CP for the Music section, and I have visited and posted every day since the beginning, barring illness or holidays. Even though I am no longer employed by FrontOfMind - who sold the AB to Crystal Guides - I am still here, the proverbial 'old man' of the AB.
