A glass of tonic water before bed is supposed to help.
I suffer from this restless leg thing as well, no cure apparently, its really strange!
cut em off
The odd thing with me is I sleep in two different beds within the house and I am only affected in one of those beds, maybe something in that?
I tried that fattyman but they just kept going!!
GOING where Ratter??????

to ratteris, does any thing help, even if only slighter
I tried the tonic water method, I think the Tonic water thing is based on the quinine in tonic water, but these days there isn't enough quinine to do anything. We have also recently purchased a memory foam mattress that seems to help a little.
fatmanlevi, How am I supposed to know you silly man!! I couldn't follow, remember!! no legs!!
Ok, I'll ask..........2 different beds ratter?

I suffer from that as well kts, the only thing that I find helps me eventually nod off is if I make a conscious effort to not move my legs, it drives ya bonkers for a few minutes but it does work.
kts123, so sorry to hear this is affecting you. I have quinine tablet from my doctor, which I take when I get cramps in my legs. My doctor has also advised I eat two or more bananas per day and also plenty of fresh tomatoes. I have noticed some improvement when I remember to do this. Hope this helps. Oh, and he said no coffee after 4pm :(
Boo, if I told you about the two beds, you would know as much as me, and besides this is a family based site isn't it? ;-)
I found that hanging my legs over the edge of the bed gave me some relief from them....and if they were unbearable i would take one paracetemol tablet ...but ususally hanging my feet (from ankles ) over the edge of the bed (side or end) let me get to sleep.
i call them fidgets and they happen when you are tired and have been on your feet for a long time. i find that a couple of ibuprophen tablets work as they help to relax muscles.
Carakeel, I want to get some sleep, not learn how to swing through the tree's, 3 bananas a day, I ask you!!
Hey Ratter, so two beds ... interesting ... does that mean twice as much fun? :)
Carakeel, well there is only one way to find out now isnt there!
Oh and kts123, try massaging your legs with a good moisturising cream or if your partner can do it for you, that is even better. My legs have become so much better since my darling partner has been massaging them every night for me. Also, try lying on your bed with a cushion under your knees, that can sometimes help too. It is usually a problem with circulation. Hope you feel better soon.
I don't have restless legs as such but used to get itchy legs of a nightime ..similar I suppose. When I was working and on my feet all day it used to be awful. I took and still take Antistax every day. It's a capsule which contains red vine leaf .This opens up the capilliaries and helps the blood flow to legs.I also use Antistax leg gel which cools them .You can get these in Superdrug or Boots. Worth a try.. but they take a week or two to kick in being a natural remedy..
RATTER you can borrow my wooden legs and catch them all !!
