Ruby, the road names one that I'd heard before was to do with author names. You put your middle name (if you have one) followed by the first bit of your road name. When I first heard it a few years back it made the name John Park, which sounded fantastic, a real author name - probably a successful sci-fi novelist. However I now live in The Avenue so it becomes John The - not so impressive.

Friends who tried it always seemed to end up with really authorial-sounding names! Similarly the porn name often seems to work too. Some of the ones above are really good - I love "Perdy Shears". Mine is Bubble Ellis.
