i am a 32 years old woman i have had health promblems (very unstable diabetis in hospital most for teenage years) all my life since i was 15 i was getting dla renewing it every so often then 4 years ago i was refused it i took it to a tribual and won it for 2 year limit reapplied after 2 years and again turn down but won it again on appeal this time when i appied for it i have been diagonsed with rheumatiod arthritis and raynaud disease my own gp has said there is no way i am able to go out to work as my condition is very bad and i need a lot of help even to give my meds. i was agained turned down so i appealed it i thought that i would recieved it again but this time they have turned me down and i have to take it to a tribual again . i feel i am not fit enough to fight it this time for the last 3 months i have been living on very little money as i only get basic income support .i have been told an appeal will take up to 6-8 months.i think it is a waste of money going to a tribual as 4 years ago i won it on far less and the cost of putting on a tribual must very high. coming into winter now i am unble to put on the heat which helps my ra and raynaud's because of the cost . i was wondering if there is any way that they can fast track the tribual and can anyone offer me advice on going to the tribual

as you prbably know, not being able to work because of illness is unfortunately not a reeason to get dla - it is dependant n how much help you need with peronal care/cooking and how much help you need getting around. In my experience, getting it has as much to do with how you fill the form in rather than how ill you actually are/ow much help you need.
im afraid i dont know the answer about fastracking the appeal, but if you can get a helth professional to support your claim you might have more luck. Or try cab. Or some local councils have a benefits service

Fully agree with previous post - do get help for the appeal, do not let it drop.

In the short term, if you have problems heating your home it might be possible to get help form a charity. CAB may know about local charities. There are also charitable trusts runs for EDF Energy and British Gas (and one or two other energy suppliers) which can sometimes help their customers - again, CAB would have details.
