How hypo should a kitten be? We have Muffin who is 11 weeks old (been with us for 10 days)...Had two sibling brothers, but she was the most feisty...Has various toys including mice (killed more than once lol), boingy elasticated ones that slip over the door handles, ping pong balls (play for England - one day!), boxes and wpbs to jump in...BUT she runs around like something demented, usually after a sleep (which being a baby, she does a lot), and having eaten and washed suddenly goes berserk, trying to chew cables, jumping behind the TV and into the unit housing the set-top and DVD recorder...bites anything and everything in her wake, and also licks the settee all over, scratching and biting us if we try to placate her...This will happen at various times during the day and evening...late evening she will purr so much (sounds like an engine!) and come around me for love and affection - which she gets 100%...
1st visit to Vets last week for vaccination and kitty pack including Frontline...has already been de-wormed before we acquired her...
She does not understand NO, however it is said!!
Please advise as to whether this in natural and will run its course (so to speak)...

One thing she does that you haven't mentioned is attack all four dogs in our house [although this is now playfully[well sort of] as opposed to the killer strikes she used to make!]. Her favourite game at the mo is 'bite the Great Danes ears', he can be standing, sitting or running when this takes place. Oh and do you get the 8.30 wall run? You know those motorbikes that go so fast they fly round the inside of a large sphere? 8.30 everynight....that's our cat!!! Pretty amazing to watch!!! And don't get me started on my house plants.....Or scaring the sh*t out of me when she jumps on my feet form under the duvet when I walk into my bedroom....interesting owning a kitten isn't it? :O}

Thanks guys - I think!!
I'm not sure who was going to be sectioned first, me or her! lol Hey B00, the curtains have not been forgotten either, the voiles have been attacked as well as the caf nets...thinking of spraying cat repellent on my toes, one little movement, and POUNCE!! Meal times are hilarious, she will jump up on the vacant chair and rest her head on the table, or lurk underneath and suddenly claw her way onto your lap - OUCH!! divegirl, are you saying we've got another 10 weeks of mayhem? Didn't mention the pot plants, even the small ones are shown no mercy...30 foot sitting room and two fireplaces. Sitting there one night and wondered what the noise was...madam had decided to climb up onto the chimney breast - what a job getting her down!! She thought it was such great fun, she'd try again - so went out the following day and bought two fireguards...
She is also fascinated by the TV screen (loves Superbikes), and as for my laptop - insists on walking over it the whole time when I'm on here - usually changing the page I'm on...so if one day you see a paw print or some garbled message (not like my usual), blame kitty!!
She was born black, but has since lightened to a dark choc brown - hence Muffin (choc-chip)...long fluffy fur and extraordinary long eyelashes like her whiskers forget to stop!
Anyhow, wouldn't part with her for the world - at least not until next time lol *this is because she is now having a nap*
cheers to you both

Thanks for posting this n00dles, it certainly has brightened my day.
My cat is about 4 years old and I rehomed him so have no idea what he was like as a kitten but everything you say I can imagine him doing. He's still pretty feisty - just last night he was playing frantic football with a piece of screwed paper on the laminate flooring and he was skidding all over the place - he slid gracefully into the wall 3 times in as many minutes and then lost the paper under a chest of drawers and spent the next hour lying on his side with all 4 paws groping about under it trying to get it out! He never found it. He still takes great pleasure in pouncing on my feet under the bed covers too!

Hi anna,
Screwed up newspaper certainly doesn't roll where it shouldn't...can't count how many times the armchair or settee has to be moved to find the ping pong ball!
Open a toffee and before you know it the wrapper has snatched cos she loves the crackle sound...I'm amazed tho at her ability to read - magazines and newspapers get the 3rd degree even in the rack! One thing I am pleased about - she doesn't get fazed with the cleaner. Was hoovering today (2 flights of stairs) and she lay on each stair above the one I was cleaning, and only moved under pressure!
Makes a wierd noise sometimes when on a "wall of death" run that divegirl mentioned - something like 'thrrrp' with a ringing sound to it!
Should have called her "Loopy" lol

She sounds great n00dles. I know all about things disappearing under furniture - I moved house recently and I found a grand total of 6 catnip filled mice, 4 balls, 8 pieces of paper, and 2 rattley things under the furniture in just 2 rooms!
Everything slides on laminate flooring, even paper, especially when whacked with great force by Sam's huge paws!
He's the same with anything that crackles too. I was unwrapping a sweet once and he took a flying leap from the floor behind me on to my shoulders and then scrambled over my head to get to it - and he's a big cat!! It's an interesting experience wearing a large ginger and white long haired cat as a hat!

That's exactly it n00dles - he certainly did have a warming effect!
Perforated legs, clothes permantly covered in fur, having deep and meaningful conversations with a furry beast and people thinking you're slightly demented as a result - all side-effects of cat ownership but worth it in my opinion! Wouldn't be without the great furry lump!

AH that sounds like my little Fidel! He's 14 weeks old. We call him our little SAS cat. He likes to hide from us just so he can attack our ankles. He's also mastered the art of climbing curtains, catching bugs mid-flight, wrestling bits of plastic, playing football with little rolled up balls of aluminium and generally wreaking havoc. So I think its pretty natural kitten behaviour!
Must admit, she does come in useful...very helpful at assisting with full shopping bags...doesn't go for the food mind, just the bags!
Read a thread here t'other day regarding Frontline - the pros and cons (the cons being the price lol)...is it true that the spray is the best? Do you find that it is only effective up to 4-5 weeks?
Rang a diff vets to the one I registered with, and they said that they hadn't found Frontline so effective and had started using Advantage which is better but cheaper! [4 months treatment for 14] Have seen said product on various websites - any views?

Oh wolf, that is so sad...much as I despair when Muffin causes havoc...I cannot now think of not having her around...
Funny really, after today's posting on here, she has been more subdued, and wanting cuddles, with her little grumbling engine running...right now she's lying stretched out behind my head on the armchair, now and again she will look at the laptop screen (always fascinates her), then put her paw on my head...
Do you think you will get another?
