problems waking from anasthetic

I recently had some cosmetic surgery abroad. I had problems waking up afterwards and was taken down to the general hospital where eventually I came round. I was meant to be out for 3 hours but was out for over 8.
The hospital have given me no notes to give to my own doctor about the complications I had with the anasthetic and I am wondering if I need to inform my doctor about this in case of any future operations
